Father’s Day is June 20. There is something somewhat traditional about getting dear ol’ Dad something from the tool and hardware department every year on this day. If your Dad is the DIY type here are a few ideas that steer a bit away from the traditional hammer or screwdrivers sets, and are original enough to get for the man who has everything.

Gift Ideas for the DIY Dad

Spending Time with your DIY Dad

For the little ones who want to spend some quality time with their DIY Dad, local Home Depot stores hosts Kids workshops the first Saturday of every month. According to HomeDepot.com, the Home Depot’s Kids Workshops offer useful projects including the creation of toolboxes, fire trucks and mail organizers, as well as more educational projects, such as a window birdhouse, bughouse or Declaration of Independence frame kit. The workshops teach children do-it-yourself skills and tool safety, while at the same time helping to instill a sense of accomplishment.

While there is no workshop scheduled for Father’s Day this year, check out projects to enjoy together such as a this tool box building kit that are sold online.

Happy Father’s Day, and happy memory making with your DIY Dad!
